Sing a Song of Blackbirds
The Greencliff Shrine
The Greencliff Shrine is an old-world site near the Greencliff Falls and the village of Greenmille. It is not a particularly notable site, in that it only has a single room with a thickly varnished wooden floor which depicts a boat on stormy seas. There is a single line of text bordering the work, but because no-one has shown much interest in the site it was untranslated until recently, when Cynthia the Barbarian discovered its meaning and linked it to a religious ritual involving the ancient brass gongs also located at the site. Cynthia’s completion of the ritual revealed stairs which lead deeper into the shrine.
The multiple levels of the shrine used carved stellae and symbolism to tell the spiritual journey of a woman through the perils of a vicious storm, which is possibly connected to the story of [Rhaich | Rhaich Edhrellon]]. Each level represents a different totemic spirit and describes that spirits connection to the story.
The second level of the shrine is dedicated to the Raven, the third level of the shrine is dedicated to the Mole, the fourth level is dedicated to the Salamander, the fifth level is dedicated to the Gargoyle, the sixth floor is not dedicated to any one spirit, and the final level represents the image of a ship.
